About Membership
The purpose of the Munk Debates membership program is to keep supporters up-to-date on our news and future events, and to raise funds to help offset the cost of of operating this website.
The Munk Debates has two membership levels: premium and basic.
Premium Membership – $10 or more (charitable donation)
With over 9,000 basic members currently registered with munkdebates.com, our premium membership package is your best option to secure tickets to our live debates.
Our paid premium membership package confers the following benefits:
- 48 hour window to purchase tickets to our live events before basic members or the public
- Canadian charitable tax receipt in the amount of your membership donation
- Unlimited online video streaming of past debates (iPad and iPhone compatible)
- Free audio downloads of past debates for iPod and MP3 players
- Membership valid for 365 days from date of purchase
Basic Membership – FREE
Our free basic membership is a great way to keep abreast of the Munk Debates.
- Email updates on future debates, publications and contests
- Free downloadable transcripts of past debates
- Free access to online debating tools and resources
Basic members will no longer receive the 48 hour advance notice of ticket sales for our live events. To receive advance ticketing offers please upgrade your basic membership to the premium level.
Additional Information
The Munk Debates communicates with its members via email only.
The 48 hour advance ticket window is only provided to our premium members. During the 48 hour advance ticketing window seats are made available on a first come first serve basis.
48 hours after tickets have been made available to our premium members any remaining seats are offered to our basic members and to the public through our venue box-office.
Membership fees are processed online using a valid credit and our secure online ordering system.

The Munk Debates are funded by the Aurea Foundation; a Canadian charitable foundation.
Each Munk Debate costs many more times to stage than the combined revenues generated by ticket sales, book and television licensing, and premium membership fees.
